Kristen McLain

   Kristen's interest in writing began at the early age of six when her father suggested she write her dreams in story form instead of boring her family with the endless tales. She continued this for several years. Once in highschool she became involved in a creative writing class and the school's literary magazine where she published several short stories and poems.

  After two years as an undecided major at Bowling Green State University, her father put her to the task of declaring a major in less than a week. She wanted to be a writer: her father's reply was, "There's no money in writing!" She was ordered to choose something else. She chose Cardiac Rehab and went on to pursue her Master's degree at Utah State University. Well, as it turns out, there is no money in rehab, either! So, in between her 'day job' she writes in her spare time. Spare time meaning when she's not gardening, cooking, sewing, cycling, hiking or convincing her teenage children to get their work done! However, writing is taking a front seat to all her other interests and she's pleased to announce she's finished her first full-length manuscript as of Sept. 2006! She celebrated with chocolate!

  Kristen enjoys writing contemporary romance but also has pages of notes and ideas for historical, fantasy and inspirational romances.
